Experimental work using NMR in structural biology is pursued by a group of postdoctoral fellows and graduate students at ShanghaiTech University in China. We investigate structure and dynamics of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), thus exploring the molecular basis of their trans-membrane signaling and the foundations for the development of drugs that target GPCRs. Guiding this research and the editing of resulting publications are a large part of Prof. Wüthrich’s activities in his offices at ETH Zürich and at Scripps Research, California. At the ETH Zürich, he has started a new project of studies on sarcopenia and osteoporosis in the ageing human population.
